Turning to the hub of IT medical convergence industry
The goal of Department of Medical IT Convergence Engineering is to teach students cutting-edge technology, by converging electronic engineering-based biotechnology (BT), medical technology (MT), and information technology (IT), and to nurture professionals who will be taking up creative roles in the field of high-tech electro-medical devices.
Dean Greetings
Dear fellow researchers and prospective students, Department of Medical IT Convergence Engineering at Kumoh National Institute of Technology was established in 2012 and applies engineering technology to the medical field, training students to take up leading roles in the field of cutting-edge medical devices, such as electro-medical devices.
The demand for cutting-edge medical devices is ever-growing and includes areas such as medical imaging, optics, biosensors, signal processing, U-healthcare, medical robotics, and rehabilitation welfare. Our department provides a comprehensive program that combines experimentation with practical training, environmental design, and covers basic theories in the application of detailed applied areas.
Situated in Gumi city, the industrial center of Korea, our department is currently running and planning to expand joint industrial-academic educational courses, such as research with leading research centers both in and outside of Korea, industries, and aim to develop into an exemplary department emphasizing industrial-academic collaboration.
