Polymer materials, a basis of modern industry, serve as a core element in an array of high-tech industries such as household goods, electronics, sports & leisure goods, civil engineering and construction, automobiles, ships, and composite materials for aviation and space. The applications range from high-performance polymer materials to biomedical materials, carbon materials, energy materials, electronic component materials, and fine chemical materials, which are core elements in many industries these days. Polymer science and engineering, a key to researching and developing new polymer materials and advanced materials, is closely associated with convergence science and engineering such as chemical engineering, material engineering, textile engineering, and applied chemistry, in terms of basic science. In the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering, the Engineering Education Accreditation
System is carried out for all students. Through this system and systematic intensive education, students will be equipped with polymer science and engineering expertise to become professional polymer scientists and engineers who can demonstrate their best capability inv arious fields.
